Interim Financial Controller | £400-£450 per day | 3+ Months | SAP S/4HANA | Selby
Are you an experienced Financial Controller with hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience? If you enjoy coming into a business during a period of change, getting stuck into financial accounting, strengthening the balance sheet, and helping deliver major transformation projects, this could be an excellent interim opportunity.
We're partnering with a growing business in the Selby area that is entering a significant period of change. The business is in the middle of an SAP S/4HANA implementation, with go-live planned for November, while also preparing for the launch of a new facility next year.
They need an experienced Interim Financial Controller who can provide immediate support to the CFO, help stabilise the finance function, and play a key role in delivering the next phase of the business's transformation.
The Role
This is a hands-on Financial Controller role with a strong focus on financial accounting, balance sheet integrity, systems implementation, and supporting the wider finance transformation.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll provide an experienced pair of hands during a period of significant change.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
