About the Role

Our client is a listed business that urgently needs an Interim Financial Controller for one of its divisions to take over the statutory and management reporting, control environment, and delivery of half year and year end audit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the external audit process, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely statutory accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and financial best practices.
  • Ensure that controls are in place and operate effectively and provide assurance on the effectiveness of controls to the division and Group.
  • Support internal audits, striving for strong reports and timely actioning of any functions.
  • Evaluate and optimise financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with FP&A teams to support delivery of the budget and forecast for the division.
  • Manage, mentor and coach a small team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA fully qualified
  • Experience of working in a Group organisation.
  • Experience of working in a listed business, including reporting in IFRS in a plc environment
  • Good experience in managing people and teams.
  • Experience of improving systems and processes
  • Experience of multi-company, multi-currency accounting
  • Strong Excel skills

Role Details

  • The role is a FTC contract paying around £100-120k, but day rate options are under consideration too.
  • The role is an urgent start and candidates will not be considered on any longer than one week's notice.
  • The role is likely to last 12 months.
  • It is based in the office in Cambridge 3 days/week, although the client will cover expenses if you need to stay over.
