A leading high-end hospitality business is looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join its Central London team on an initial interim basis.
This is a hands-on role for a technically strong Financial Controller who can quickly get under the skin of the finance function, clean up the accounts, strengthen financial controls and support the business through both internal and external audit.
You will take ownership of the day-to-day financial control environment, working closely with the senior finance team to identify and resolve outstanding issues, improve processes and ensure the accounts are accurate and audit-ready.

Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the financial control function and month-end close
- Review and clean up the balance sheet and underlying accounts
- Identify and resolve historic accounting issues and control weaknesses
- Lead and coordinate the external audit process
- Support internal audit and implement recommendations
- Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting
- Ensure reconciliations, journals and supporting documentation are robust
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and Operations
- Provide hands-on support across the wider finance function where required
The ideal candidate:

- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
- Proven Financial Controller / senior financial accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background
- Experience working through audit and year-end processes
- Comfortable coming into an environment that requires structure, organisation and clean-up
- Hands-on, pragmatic and able to operate at pace
- Previous hospitality, leisure, retail or multi-site experience would be advantageous
