Interim Finance Manager | Hampshire / Southampton | Hybrid
Confidential role, exclusive to Curated Partners
My client is a leading private-equity-backed healthcare provider with operations in the UK and Europe. They need a hands-on Interim Finance Manager/Financial controller to take ownership of finance for their busy single-site UK business.
The role
- Run end-to-end finance for the UK business and lead a small team covering AP, AR and finance support.
- Own NHS billing: prepare backing files for ICB submission, raise and upload invoices, and keep billing controls tight and activity data reliable.
- Run day-to-day finance: bank, card and e-commerce reconciliations, AP runs, VAT returns, intercompany recharges, revenue journals and refunds.
- Coordinate payroll for 50–100 employees with an outsourced provider, including journals and monthly analysis.
- Deliver a strict monthly hard close: accruals, prepayments, deferred income, fixed assets, debtor reconciliations and full balance sheet recs.
- Produce weekly and monthly KPIs and lead P&L reviews with European finance.
- Support the wider European group with management packs, cash flow, audit queries and capex reporting.
- Lead the year-end audit with the external accountants.
- Improve processes and support an upcoming system change, as NetSuite is being rolled out across the group.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
