Interim Financial Controller

West London | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
£500 per day

We are partnering exclusively with a rapidly expanding consumer-facing business to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a hands-on leadership role supporting a growing multi-site operation during a period of significant expansion. The successful candidate will take ownership of the financial control function, ensure robust reporting processes are maintained, and lead an established finance team through a key transition period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial control function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Oversee statutory accounts preparation, audit management and compliance activities
  • Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations
  • Partner with the Finance Director to support business performance and strategic initiatives
  • Review and enhance financial processes, controls and reporting frameworks
  • Lead and develop a team of AP and management accountants
  • Support ongoing business growth, operational improvements and finance projects
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support

Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Proven Financial Controller experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical accounting background with expertise in statutory reporting and financial controls (UK GAAP, FRS 102)
  • Previous responsibility for month-end, year-end and audit processes
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive and hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a growing business
  • Experience in Hospitality, retail, leisure or other multi-site environments is highly advantageous
  • Exposure to Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based finance systems
