Interim Financial Controller (Temp to Perm)

Milton Keynes | PE-Backed Services Group | Interim, 3–4 Months | Up to £450pd Outside IR35

OVERVIEW

AtkinsClarke are exclusively supporting the search for an Interim Financial Controller on behalf of a private equity-backed provider of specialist equipment and support services based in Milton Keynes.

This is a hands-on, high-impact assignment for a finance professional who is comfortable stepping into a team mid-transition and getting straight into the detail – stabilising day-to-day finance operations while a longer-term structure is put in place.

COMPANY

Our client is a well-established, PE-backed business supplying specialist equipment and support services to public sector healthcare clients. The business has grown significantly in recent years and continues to invest in strengthening its finance function.

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the CFO, the Interim Financial Controller will take hands-on ownership of core finance operations during a period of change within the team, with several members exiting the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing hands-on leadership across accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury functions during a period of transition
  • Strengthening cash flow management and financial controls across the finance function
  • Improving reporting and management information (MI) to support better business decision-making
  • Working closely with the CFO to stabilise and rebuild core finance processes
  • Supporting the team through a transition period as underperforming staff exit and a new structure beds in
  • Operating day-to-day within NetSuite, ensuring accurate and timely processing

PERSON

We are looking for a finance professional at or close to Financial Controller level who is comfortable getting hands-on to fix real operational issues, not just oversee them.

You will bring:

  • Qualified accountant or equivalent experience at Financial Controller level
  • A track record of rolling up your sleeves to resolve operational finance issues
  • Strong hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury
  • Experience with NetSuite highly advantageous
  • Comfortable operating at pace in an interim capacity with immediate impact expected
  • Available at short notice
