Financial Control Role

Meraki Talent are supporting a well established Asset Manager based in the City who are seeking to recruit an established Financial Control individual on a long term contract to cover a maternity leave.

The role will take ownership for the UK & Irish Entities within the group, leading on Statutory reporting as well as ICARA - you will work closely with the regulators in London & Dublin and act as point of contact for queries both externally & internally.

The team operate in a collaborate manner, so you will be supported by the CFO & wider team at all times.

Day Rate

  • £600-625 (PAYE Inside IR35)

Working Pattern

  • Initially 4 days in office, but can be flexible to 3 days longer term

Full role details below;

  • Preparation of monthly financial reporting in relation to Irish entity for distribution to senior management.
  • Ongoing monitoring of capital and liquidity adequacy for Irish and UK regulated entities.
  • Preparation of quarterly board reporting for Irish entity.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly regulatory returns for review by senior management and onward submission of returns to the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Lead preparation of financial sections in relation to ICARAP document for Irish regulated entity and ICARA document for UK regulated entity, including capital and liquidity analysis, stress testing and related financial modelling.
  • Responsibility for local German and Danish branch accounting for Irish entity, including preparation of intercompany invoices and supporting reconciliations.
  • Preparation of 31 December year end statutory accounts for Irish entity and its branches including supporting technical accounting analysis for merger transaction.
  • Coordinate and oversee audit process with the external auditors, PwC, in relation to interim and year end audit through leading and attending regular catch-up meetings, answering audit queries and providing supporting evidence.
  • Provide guidance and assistance with the year end preparation and review process in relation to the year end statutory accounts for FRS102 and IFRS financial statements for UK and Middle East legal entities.
  • Responsibility for technical accounting leadership and providing guidance and assistance to Finance team for the various year end statutory accounts and audit process.
  • Assistance with preparation and review of quarterly FCA regulatory returns for UK entity in relation to Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and AUM, as well as various other ad hoc FCA returns.
  • AUM review and monitoring for Irish and UK entities.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls, process documentation and supporting audit trails across all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform month end activities, including prepayments, accruals, fixed asset register and depreciation reviews & journal posting.
  • Prepare and monitor bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and undertake investigative work to provide commentary on variances and identify issues when they arise.
  • Review transfer-pricing calculations, intercompany allocations and invoices, and coordinate with internal and external tax specialists on corporation tax, VAT and other tax matters.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience within Asset Management
  • Experience with both Statutory Accounting & Regulatory reporting - ICARA essential
  • Experience using Workday system desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering work to a consistently high standard and taking full ownership for assigned work tasks
  • Clear and concise communicator with ability to explain financial and technical maters to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
