Interim Financial Controller

PE-Backed SaaS Business | High-Growth Technology Sector

Day Rate: £700 per day

Contract Length: 6 Months Initial Term

Location: London (Hybrid)

Start Date: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred

Finatal is partnering with a private equity-backed SaaS business currently undergoing rapid international growth and scaling its finance function ahead of a planned value creation programme. With revenues approaching £50m and operations across multiple territories, the CFO is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to strengthen the finance team and drive several key transformation initiatives.

This is a highly visible role within a fast-growing software business, offering direct exposure to the executive team and investors.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the month-end close process and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Managing the group consolidation across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Enhancing financial controls, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Owning cash flow management and working capital reporting
  • Supporting the implementation of NetSuite and related reporting systems
  • Leading the year-end audit process and managing external advisors
  • Producing board packs and supporting PE investor reporting requirements
  • Partnering with FP&A and operational teams to improve reporting accuracy and business insight
  • Managing and developing a team of qualified and part-qualified finance professionals

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or ACMA qualified
  • Previous Financial Controller or Head of Finance experience within a SaaS, software or technology business
  • Strong technical accounting and group reporting expertise
  • Experience operating within a private equity-backed environment
  • Proven track record delivering finance transformation or ERP implementation projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience

Desirable Experience

  • NetSuite implementation or optimisation experience
  • Multi-entity and international reporting exposure
  • Subscription-based revenue recognition knowledge
  • Previous involvement in acquisition integration projects
  • Experience within high-growth or venture-backed technology businesses
