The Opportunity
Global Accounting Network are partnering with a fast-growing, retail brand, to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support the business through its next phase of growth. With further international expansion, new retail openings and a planned Series A fundraise on the horizon, this is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial business at a pivotal stage of its journey.

- Financial Modelling & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts and scenario analysis to support strategic planning, store expansion, international growth and fundraising.
- Audit & Due Diligence: Lead preparations for the February 2027 audit, ensuring financial records and supporting documentation are robust, accurate and audit-ready. Build well-organised due diligence files to support the anticipated Series A fundraise and any potential corporate transactions.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Review existing finance processes, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
- International Finance: Oversee international accounting requirements, including coordination with the US accounting resource, as the business establishes its American entity and expands into new markets.
- Commercial Performance & KPIs: Partner with growth and marketing stakeholders to understand online trading metrics, including conversion rates, impressions and customer acquisition performance, ensuring financial analysis translates into actionable commercial insight.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the senior finance representative across the business, bringing confidence, pace and authority when engaging with key stakeholders and challenging decisions where necessary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
