FD Capital is working with a profitable, private equity-backed international business that has grown quickly over the past three years. The company is preparing for a sale process in the coming months and needs an experienced interim Financial Controller to strengthen its finance function and make sure it is ready for due diligence.

The Role

The business runs stock across multiple warehouse locations in the UK and North America, with local finance teams reporting into the UK. You will join at a pivotal moment. You will take ownership of the numbers, fix what needs fixing, and give the leadership team and prospective buyers confidence in the financial information.

The role might suit a fractional FC 3 days per week, or an interim 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the sale process by preparing, reconciling and presenting financial data for due diligence
  • Moving reporting off complex spreadsheets onto robust, well-controlled processes
  • Strengthening stock control, inventory valuation and reconciliations across several warehouse sites
  • Consolidating results from UK and overseas entities, including multi-currency reporting
  • Improving the month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet integrity
  • Working closely with senior management and external advisers, and responding quickly to information requests
  • Identifying control weaknesses and putting practical fixes in place under tight deadlines

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
