Interim Financial Controller – Insurance
6-month contract | London | Hybrid
A leading commercial insurer is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join on an initial six-month basis.
Role Description
Reporting to the CFO, the role will lead the financial accounting and reporting function, with responsibility across statutory, management, and group reporting.
Key Areas Include:
- IFRS 17 reporting
- Solvency UK regulatory reporting
- Financial controls and governance
- Insurance and reinsurance accounting
- External audit
- Reserving and actuarial collaboration
- Team leadership
- Finance process improvement

Requirements
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience gained within an insurance carrier, reinsurer, or specialist insurer.
Strong practical knowledge of IFRS 17 is essential. Candidates from a predominantly insurance broking background are unlikely to have the required technical exposure.

Contract Details
- Initial six-month assignment
- £140,000–£150,000 FTC or £800–£900 per day
- Hybrid working, two to three days per week in London
- Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
