Interim Financial Controller
Circa £550-£650/day
6 Months + Contract
Midlands (Remote)
We're supporting a growing, PE backed multi-site Healthcare business with the appointment of a hands on senior Financial Controller / Controls focused Finance Director.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the Finance function, improving reporting and controls, and supporting the business through its next phase of organic and inorganic growth.
Working closely with the CFO, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day Finance function while helping build a scalable platform capable of supporting continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the Management Accounts and Transactional Finance teams, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting.
- Owning and continually improving the month-end close process across multiple entities.
- Building and maintaining a robust financial control environment across a growing, multi-site organisation.
- Developing high-quality management reporting, KPIs and performance dashboards to support commercial decision making.
- Partnering with operational leaders across the business, providing meaningful insight around profitability, costs, cashflow and performance.
- Driving budgeting, forecasting and working capital management.
- Supporting the business through periods of growth, acquisition and organisational change, ensuring Finance processes, reporting and controls evolve alongside the business.
- Helping integrate new acquisitions where required, embedding consistent reporting, governance and financial controls.
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, automate manual processes and increase reporting capability.
- Supporting year-end audit, statutory reporting and wider Finance transformation initiatives.
- Working closely with the CFO on strategic projects and business improvement initiatives.

About You:
- Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent.
- Experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or hands-on Finance Director.
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
- A track record of improving Finance processes, reporting and controls rather than simply maintaining them.
- Experience working within complex multi-site organisations.
- Exposure to growing, acquisitive, investor-backed or Private Equity-backed businesses would be advantageous.
- Experience building scalable Finance processes capable of supporting business growth and acquisition activity.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence senior operational stakeholders.
- Experience leading and developing Finance teams.
- Strong ERP systems knowledge alongside advanced Excel capability.
- A proactive, commercially minded and hands-on approach.
