The Role
The Financial Reporting Manager will support the integrity, governance and delivery of the Group's external financial reporting. The role acts as a lead technical accounting advisor, providing independent accounting advice, preparing technical papers, leading external audit relationships and ensuring compliance and FCA regulatory requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Support the finance team with the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for the business and the consolidated Group accounts ensuring full compliance with applicable IFRS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversight of the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for subsidiary companies and Group consolidation.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and policy documentation for senior stakeholders.
- Support the process of financial statement redesign and adjustment.
- Maintain robust supporting documentation and audit trails for all financial disclosures.
- Advise on technical accounting matters, providing definitive accounting conclusions and recommendations.
- Interpret and lead implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
- Lead accounting assessments for significant transactions, new products, business initiatives and strategic projects.
- Influence decision-making through clear recommendations on accounting, reporting and financial control implications.
- Prepare high-quality Board papers and financial reports, clearly articulating key issues, risks, and judgements.

About You
- Qualified ACA or ACCA or equivalent with significant post-qualification experience.
- Significant experience within listed entities or complex regulated organisations in the Financial Services sector or similar.
- Demonstrable experience providing independent technical accounting advice to Executive and preparing supporting documentation.
- Strong track record of managing complex accounting judgements and policy decisions.
- Experience implementing accounting standard changes and assessing business impacts.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience producing Board-level papers.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
