Interim FP&A Director

Day Rate: £900 per day

Location: London

PE-Backed Professional Services Business | 12 Month contract

Finatal are partnered with a high-growth professional services business backed by a leading large-cap private equity investor, seeking an experienced Interim FP&A Director to support the CFO through a critical stage in the company's evolution.

This individual must have experience operating within a large-cap PE-backed portfolio company or a listed business. Additionally, they must have demonstrable experience supporting a private equity exit, refinancing, recapitalisation, IPO, or secondary buyout.

Having delivered significant growth in recent years, the business is now entering a period of consolidation and optimisation as it prepares for an eventual exit. The CFO is seeking a commercially minded FP&A leader who can enhance forecasting and reporting capabilities, provide clear visibility on key performance drivers, and act as a trusted partner to both the executive team and investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Develop best-in-class management reporting and KPI frameworks
  • Provide commercial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Partner closely with the CFO, executive leadership team, and private equity investors
  • Drive improvements in FP&A processes, reporting quality, and forecasting accuracy
  • Support board reporting, lender reporting, and investor communications
  • Deliver detailed analysis around business performance, profitability, and cash generation
  • Support value creation initiatives and strategic projects ahead of an anticipated exit
  • Lead and develop the FP&A function

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven FP&A Director, Head of FP&A, or Finance Director experience
  • Experience operating within a large-cap PE-backed portfolio company or a listed business
  • Demonstrable experience supporting a private equity exit, refinancing, recapitalisation, IPO, or secondary buyout
