Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly experienced and battle-tested Interim Global Director of Cash Optimisation to lead an intensive global programme focused on maximising cash generation and improving working capital over the next six months.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this individual will have a clear and highly accountable mandate: deliver measurable reductions in Accounts Receivable balances and increases in optimised Accounts Payable balances.
The role will operate across the Group globally, working with finance and operational teams across multiple countries and businesses. Monthly AR and AP flows are approximately $0.5 billion, creating a significant opportunity for a hands-on operator to identify and deliver material cash improvements.
This is not a finance transformation or systems implementation role. The successful candidate will be expected to work with existing systems, processes and teams to rapidly identify opportunities, remove barriers, challenge established practices and drive action.
The successful candidate will have explicit sponsorship and authority from the Group CFO and will be expected to operate with urgency, persistence and commercial judgement.
Key Accountabilities
Cash Optimisation
- Take direct accountability for improving Group working capital and maximising cash generation over the six-month assignment.
- Develop and execute an intensive global cash optimisation plan focused primarily on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Identify and rapidly deliver opportunities to accelerate cash collection and reduce Accounts Receivable balances.
- Identify opportunities to optimise the timing of supplier payments and increase Accounts Payable balances appropriately.
- Establish clear baselines, targets and performance metrics for AR and AP improvement.
- Maintain relentless focus on delivery and measurable balance-sheet outcomes.
Accounts Receivable
- Drive accelerated collection of outstanding customer balances across the Group.
- Identify significant overdue, disputed or operationally blocked receivables and personally drive resolution and escalation where required.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate collection activity.
- Establish focused action plans for the largest and most material AR opportunities.
- Escalate barriers rapidly to senior management where intervention is required.
- Create a strong cadence of performance management around collections and AR reduction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
