Job Opportunity – Interim Group Accountant (Capital/Closedown) – Wales (Potential for Fully Remote Working)
Job Role: Interim Group Accountant (Capital/Closedown)
Location: Wales
Contract Duration: 6 Months +
Rate: DOE
IR35: Inside
Hybrid: Preference is X2 days in office per week. Could potentially consider fully remote for candidates who are not as local.
Days: full time hours, 5 days per week.
Start Date: ASAP
A local authority client of mine based in Wales are currently on the lookout for a Group Accountant (Capital/Closedown) to join their team on an initial 6 month basis.

Main duties:
- Reporting directly into the Chief Accountant.
- Managing/Supervising a team of 7/8 employees within corporate finance.
- Hand on capital accounting – capital closedown, capital budget setting, capital budget monitoring, fixed asset register.
- VAT & Treasury is dealt with by other members within the team.
- Supporting rather than leading on the production of the statement of accounts.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be a fully qualified accountant.
- Must have capital accounting experience both technical (fixed asset register) and also finance business partnering (budget setting & monitoring).
- Must have experience doing the above within a local authority setting as there will be an expectancy to hit the ground running.
