Overview We are seeking an exceptional Interim Group CFO to join a leading advanced manufacturing business during a critical phase of growth, operational improvement, and strategic execution. This six-month assignment will provide executive financial leadership across the organisation, ensuring robust financial control, performance management, cash optimisation, and strategic decision support.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team to drive operational and financial performance across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role requires a commercially focused finance leader with significant experience in complex manufacturing businesses, operational finance, supply chain economics, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on financial strategy and business performance.
- Support the delivery of strategic objectives, growth initiatives, and operational transformation programmes.
- Provide insight and challenge to support decision-making across the business.
- Lead scenario planning, investment appraisal, and strategic financial modelling.

Financial Performance & Control
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Deliver robust forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
- Drive performance management disciplines across business units and manufacturing sites.
- Oversee working capital management and liquidity planning.
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
- Provide leadership on manufacturing cost control, productivity improvement, inventory management, and margin enhancement.
- Drive visibility and accountability around operational KPIs.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial teams to improve profitability.
- Review and optimise costing methodologies and operational reporting.
Cash & Funding
- Improve cash generation and working capital performance.
- Monitor liquidity and ensure appropriate financial resources are available.
- Support discussions with banks, lenders, investors, and other financial stakeholders where required.
Leadership & Transformation
- Lead and develop the Group Finance function.
- Assess organisational capability and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Support ongoing transformation, ERP, systems, and process improvement initiatives.
- Deliver rapid assessment and implementation of financial and operational improvements.

Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with Board members, shareholders, lenders, auditors, and external advisors.
- Present financial performance and recommendations clearly to executive and non-executive stakeholders.
- Maintain credibility with operational leadership teams across multiple locations.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
- Previous experience as Group CFO, within multi-site manufacturing or industrial businesses.
- Available immediately/ short notice
- Strong advanced manufacturing experience, including multi-site operations and ideally internationally.
- Proven track record of delivering operational and financial improvements in complex environments.
- Experience working within private equity-backed, listed, or shareholder-driven large scale complex organisations.
Remuneration
- Daily £1200 - 1500 dependent on experience.
