Interim Group Financial Controller

Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a highly successful and growing business to appoint an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller. This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting the CFO and wider leadership team through a critical period of growth, reporting enhancement, and financial transformation. We're seeking a commercially minded finance leader who can quickly get up to speed, provide technical expertise, and bring strong financial control across a multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own group reporting, consolidations, and board reporting packs
- Manage statutory accounts and external audit delivery
- Drive improvements in controls, reporting processes, and governance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
- Support M&A, integration, and acquisition-related projects where required
- Ensure compliance and relevant statutory requirements
- Manage a team of 4, reporting to Group CFO

About You
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Previous Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director experience
- Strong group reporting and consolidation expertise
- Experience operating within multi-entity environments
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business
- Able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery
- Available immediately or at short notice (within 1 week)
Desirable Experience
- Private equity-backed businesses
- Manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or project-led environments
- Finance transformation and systems improvement projects
- M&A, acquisitions, and integration activity
