Role Overview

Due to continued growth, a Group Financial Controller is required to join a growing business for an initial period of six months. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring robust financial governance, delivering accurate and timely group reporting, and driving consistency across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and enhancing the Group's financial control environment, ensuring strong governance and compliance.
  • Leading on the group month end, quarter end and year end close processes, ensuring accuracy, rigour, and delivery.
  • Preparing the consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Providing technical accounting expertise, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Supporting acquisition activity, including financial integration, reporting alignment, and post-deal finance transformation.
  • Maintaining and developing a consistent Chart of Accounts across the Group.
  • Overseeing the statutory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements, acting as the key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Managing all corporate tax, VAT, and other compliance obligations, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, improve reporting quality, and increase efficiency.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Group Financial Controller or senior financial control role.
  • Strong technical accounting and consolidation expertise within a multi-entity environment.
  • Experience supporting business integration's, acquisitions, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent understanding of tax, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrable track record of improving financial controls, processes, and governance.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
