Interim Group Financial Controller | High-Growth Hardware Technology Business | London / Hybrid
The Client
Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth technology hardware business that designs and builds its own products and is scaling quickly across multiple entities and markets. Backed by institutional investors and growing fast, the business has outgrown its current finance systems and processes and is now investing in the infrastructure to support the next phase. It is a genuinely interesting time to join, with a live finance transformation at the centre of the plan.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Interim Group Financial Controller will own the group finance function day to day and lead finance systems transformation from the front. This is a hands-on role with a clear project spine: alongside keeping group reporting, consolidation and month-end running cleanly, you will scope, implement and embed a new finance system, redesign the processes and controls around it, and take the team with you through the change. You will manage a small group finance team and work closely with the CFO, operations and external advisers. It suits a controller who enjoys both the technical detail and the build.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
