Interim Group Financial Controller

£600-£700 pd - Inside IR35

6-month Contract (4 days in office)

Talentedge are exclusively partnered with a rapidly-growing PE backed FinTech who are seeking an Interim Group Financial Controller for a 6-month period.

Our client specialise in payments infrastructure and automation, helping businesses to manage transactions all through seamless technology saving companies millions of pounds. Reporting into the Director of Finance, you will own the group's financial close, audit and control framework, and lead a growing Financial Control team. You will be the senior technical escalation point across Financial Control and a key interface with auditors, boards and the wider Finance function.

If you are ACA qualified from the big 4/top 10 and have over 7 + years experience working across financial control in FS/Payments/FinTech/Tech businesses and are immediately available or a short notice period, please apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual close across multiple legal entities
  • Own revenue accounting, approve journals, accruals and prepayments to oversee balance sheet governance, intercompany accounting, P&L analysis and TB review
  • Deliver monthly management accounts and month-end close, board reporting packs, audit deliverables and statutory/regulatory reporting
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for reconciliation quality and balance sheet substantiation, review and challenge balance sheet recs and investigate aged reconciling items
  • Manage and lead the external audit across group entities, reviewing and preparing audit evidence whilst liaising with external auditors
  • Review statutory accounts, drive internal control remediation and follow up audit findings
  • Prepare, review and coordinate board, Audit & Risk Committee and Financial Risk Committee reporting, including management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Support statutory financial statements, regulatory and prudential reporting inputs, and governance reporting with entity performance analysis and narrative commentary.
  • Oversee and support domestic and international tax compliance and support transfer pricing, corporation tax
  • Provide consolidation support, intercompany accounting, cross-border reporting and global audit coordination with local accounting standards
  • Act as a senior finance support for international regions and teams reporting activities
  • Provide oversight and approval across banking and treasury

  • ACA qualified from big 4/top 10 accounting practice in audit
  • 7 years + post qualified experience working within Financial Services/FinTech/Payments/Tech businesses that have rapidly scaled or high-growth firms
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, leading a Financial Control department with clear demonstrative knowledge in leading a company audit for an International/Multi-entity business
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and able to deliver under pressurised deadlines
  • Experience with NetSuite is a bonus
  • Immediately available or available within a short notice period
  • Prior experience using AI tools to help automate reporting functions and capabilities
