Interim Group Reporting Manager
Contract: Interim / 9-12 month FTC
Reports to: Group Financial Controller
A large, listed technology group, currently going through a significant period of transformation within the finance function. This role sits within Group Reporting, supporting the Group Financial Controller through that change.
The Role
An experienced technical accountant is required to lead group reporting during this transformation period, managing a team of three and reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller. Given the environment, this would suit someone comfortable operating through change, whether that's a finance transformation programme, systems implementation, or wider process re-engineering, rather than a steady-state reporting role.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of group consolidation and statutory reporting across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS
- Management of the group's month-end and year-end close process, including technical review of subsidiary submissions
- Preparation of the consolidated financial statements and supporting disclosures for the Annual Report
- Leadership and development of a team of three, including workload planning and technical review of their output
- Primary finance contact for the external audit through the interim and year-end process
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller on technical accounting papers and judgemental areas - revenue recognition, leases, and any business combination activity
- Contributing to the finance transformation programme - process standardisation, controls uplift, and systems change as relevant

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
