Interim Head of Accounting

London (Hybrid) | Immediate Start | c. £100k-115k FTC | Potential Temp-to-Perm

I’m supporting a high-growth, investor backed international technology business with the appointment of an Interim Head of Accounting.

This is a senior, hands-on role within a scaling finance function, with broad responsibility across accounting, controls, reporting and operational finance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, including Board-level stakeholders and General Managers, while remaining close to the detail and comfortable owning core finance processes directly.

The business has a complex international footprint and operates across recurring software revenues alongside physical products, creating a varied accounting environment spanning US GAAP, revenue recognition, inventory and multi-entity reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and strengthen core accounting and financial control processes across the business
  • Own month-end, year-end and statutory reporting requirements
  • Support US entity accounting and ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Oversee revenue recognition across recurring software revenues, hardware and bundled offerings
  • Manage inventory, cost accounting and related operational finance processes
  • Improve financial controls, reporting processes and finance infrastructure as the business scales
  • Partner closely with Board members, General Managers and senior operational stakeholders
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making where required
  • Drive process improvement, automation and systems enhancement
  • Remain hands-on across key accounting issues while providing senior-level finance leadership

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
