Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Head of Catering to lead Catering and Retail Services across our hospital sites.
This senior leadership role is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality and customer-focused catering services for patients, staff and visitors, while driving service improvement, workforce development, financial performance and regulatory compliance.
👤 We’re looking for someone with:
âś… Significant experience leading catering, hospitality or food service operations within a large, complex organisation
âś… Strong leadership, people management and change management experience
âś… Advanced Food Hygiene (Level 4 Food Safety) and HACCP Level 3 qualifications
âś… Experience operating within a regulated, budget-controlled environment with responsibility for financial performance and resource management
âś… Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

🔍 What you’ll do:
- Lead Catering and Retail Services across GMS
- Drive service improvement and transformation
- Ensure compliance with food safety, nutritional and quality standards
- Develop and support motivated and engaged teams
- Manage budgets, resources and supplier relationships to deliver sustainable value-for-money services within a publicly funded healthcare environment
- Work collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues
- Contribute as a member of the GMS Senior Management Team
