Currently we're looking for an Interim Head of Configuration Management to join our client in the UK. This is an initial 6-12 month contract opportunity with a possibility of transitioning into a permanent position for the right individual.
The successful candidate will take the lead in developing and implementing a global Configuration Management framework across multiple international engineering sites, helping to standardise processes, governance, data management and change control activities across the organisation.
Working within an established transformation team, you will engage with stakeholders across the UK, Germany, France and the US, driving improvements to Configuration Management capability and supporting the long-term evolution of the organisation's engineering governance structure.
The position operates on a highly flexible basis, with remote working available. Candidates should be able to travel to London when required, alongside international travel to global sites, primarily Germany (approximately 25% travel).
Requirements
In order to suit the project requirements you should have some of the following:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of Configuration Management experience within complex engineering environments
- Previous leadership experience within Configuration Management, Engineering Governance or Product Lifecycle Management functions
- Strong knowledge of EIA-649, ISO 10007 and Configuration Management best practices
- Experience implementing or improving Configuration Management frameworks, processes and governance structures
- Strong understanding of change control, baseline management, configuration audits and engineering release processes
- Hands-on experience with enterprise PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Aras or similar platforms
- Ability to drive organisational change and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, IT and Programme Management teams
- Experience improving configuration and product data quality, governance and lifecycle management processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within global organisations
- Experience working within aerospace, defence, aviation, automotive, medical device or other highly regulated engineering sectors would be advantageous
- Previous experience managing global engineering transformation or continuous improvement programmes would be highly desirable
