Interim Head of Corporate Parenting
Local Authority | Near Cambridgeshire £650-£700 per day | Inside IR35 6-Month Contract Hybrid Working
An ambitious local authority near Cambridgeshire is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Corporate Parenting to provide strategic leadership across services for Children in Care, Care Leavers and Corporate Parenting.
This is a critical leadership role focused on ensuring children and young people receive the support, stability and opportunities they deserve, whilst driving continuous improvement, performance and compliance across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Corporate Parenting services, including Children in Care and Care Leaver provision.
- Drive service improvement and ensure the delivery of excellent outcomes for children and young people.
- Lead on performance management, quality assurance and inspection readiness.
- Ensure statutory duties and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
- Work closely with elected members, Corporate Parenting Boards and partner agencies.
- Develop and implement strategies that improve permanence, transitions and outcomes for care experienced young people.
- Provide visible leadership to managers and practitioners across the service.

About You
We are looking for an experienced senior children's social care leader who can demonstrate:
- Significant leadership experience at Head of Service level or above.
- Strong expertise across Corporate Parenting, Children in Care and Care Leaver Services.
- A track record of delivering service improvement and transformational change.
- Experience of working within politically led environments.
- Strong safeguarding, quality assurance and performance management skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships with partners, elected members and senior leaders.
- Experience of preparing for and responding to inspections.
