Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Head of Finance Business Partnering
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing finance business partnering function, providing strategic financial leadership across a broad range of services while supporting corporate decision-making, financial resilience, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Finance Business Partnering service across the organisation
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders and Members
- Support the delivery of the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS)
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk management
- Develop financial insight and modelling to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee the annual accounts process for service areas
- Identify funding opportunities and drive value for money across services
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support service transformation

About You:
- Fully qualified accountant (ideally CIPFA)
- Strong leadership experience within local government finance
- Proven track record in finance business partnering and strategic financial management
- Experience advising senior leaders and elected Members
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and governance
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A collaborative leader with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering outcomes
