Our university client is seeking an experienced and strategic finance leader to join our Finance Leadership Team as Head of Financial Operations. This is a critical senior role responsible for leading the organisation's financial accounting function, statutory reporting, tax and treasury management, financial control, compliance, and audit activities. Working closely with the Executive Director for Group Finance, you'll provide trusted financial leadership while helping drive organisational growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of statutory accounts, group financial reporting, and year-end processes.
- Oversee financial control, compliance, audit, taxation, treasury, and investment management activities.
- Develop strategies to optimise cash, investments, and tax positions while managing risk.
- Provide financial leadership and strategic advice to senior stakeholders and committees.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial operations, systems, policies, and controls.
- Lead transaction processing functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger teams.
- Manage external audit relationships and support governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Deputise for the Executive Director for Group Finance when required.

Requirements
- You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and a strong track record in senior financial leadership.
- You'll bring:
- Extensive experience leading finance teams and delivering a business partnering approach.
- Expertise in statutory reporting, consolidated group accounts, tax, treasury, and financial controls.
- Experience providing strategic financial advice to executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced financial systems and Excel capabilities.
- Experience operating in complex, international organisations.
