£550-£600 per day

An established, PE-backed services business operating across the UK and Europe is seeking an experienced Interim Group Head of Financial Reporting to support a period of growth, integration, and finance transformation.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a highly visible leadership role responsible for strengthening financial reporting, group consolidation, balance sheet governance, and financial controls across a complex multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will also play a key role in integrating acquisitions, improving reporting processes, and supporting wider strategic finance initiatives.
This opportunity would suit a technically strong finance leader with experience operating in project-based or multi-site businesses, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or business services sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly group consolidation and reporting process across multiple entities.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting, including variance analysis and cash flow forecasting.
- Strengthen financial controls, balance sheet governance, and reconciliation processes across the Group.
- Drive consistency in accounting policies, revenue recognition, and project accounting methodologies.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve visibility of project performance, profitability, and margins.
- Lead the financial integration of acquired businesses, embedding Group controls, reporting standards, and KPIs.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
- Deliver reporting and analysis to support executive, board, and investor decision-making.
- Contribute to finance transformation and reporting system improvement initiatives.
- Act as a trusted deputy to the CFO and provide leadership across the wider finance function.

Candidate Profile:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Significant experience leading group financial reporting within a complex multi-entity organization.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
- Proven track record of group consolidations, financial controls, and balance sheet management.
- Experience operating within a multi-currency environment.
- Previous involvement in acquisition integration and business change initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems capability.
- Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial services, or other project-led environments.
- Private equity experience advantageous.
