Interim Head of FP&A, London

c. £120k + bonus + benefits (8–12 month contract)

Our client is a leading software platform provider which has developed a proprietary suite of products for Tier 1 & 2 financial institutions. Well established in this space and trusted by top global asset servicers, it has exceptional customer retention. Originally part of a large listed group that went through a carve out, and are now PE backed, with a highly experienced leadership team that are achieving an ambitious growth strategy, both organic and via M&A.

Due to maternity leave they are seeking a commercially driven and analytically sharp Interim Head of FP&A to lead global financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic forecasting across a multinational footprint. This role is central to enabling data-driven decision-making, supporting investor reporting, and driving value creation in a private equity-backed environment. In what will be a high impact role with visibility to investors, you will partner with senior leadership across functions and geographies to shape financial strategy, optimize resource allocation, and prepare the business for future acquisitions and growth. They have hybrid flexible working, though there would be regular requirement to work in the London office.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
