We are working with a leading services business with private equity investment, embarking on an exciting phase of transformation and growth following a recent exit to private equity. As they scale, they are seeking an Interim Head of FP&A to support the CFO and leadership team in driving financial insight and strategic decision-making for six months.

The Role

This is a high-impact role ideal for a commercially minded finance professional with 7 -10 years of experience in FP&A, within a PE-backed environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy, enhancing reporting, and driving performance through data-led insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modelling & Analysis: Build and refine financial models to assess business performance, forecast growth, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Board Pack Development: Work directly with the CFO to enhance the board reporting pack, ensuring it meets the expectations of private equity stakeholders.
  • KPI Scorecard Design: Lead the development and refinement of a new KPI framework, modelling the impact of key metrics on business performance.
  • Pricing Strategy & Revenue Insight: Analyse pricing models and revenue streams, providing actionable commentary and recommendations for improvement.
  • Data Manipulation & Presentation: Be very hands-on with data/financial modelling, being entrenched within the data lake of the business to consolidate and interpret data from multiple sources, presenting clear, concise insights to the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Operational Analysis: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance through data-driven analysis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
