Interim Head of Marketing
Ideal role for an experienced and ambitious B2B marketing leader interested in climate, agriculture, and innovation.
As our Interim Head of Marketing, you will lead InPlanet’s marketing function during a period of maternity cover, maintaining momentum across our priority events, campaigns, content, and demand-generation activities. This is a performance-driven role with a strong focus on lead generation, commercial pipeline contribution, and delivery against clearly defined quarterly OKRs.
You will provide clear direction to our internal Marketing team and external partners while remaining closely involved in execution. You will work with our Commercial, Science, and Leadership teams to strengthen InPlanet’s positioning, engage corporate buyers, and communicate the value of our work across carbon removal and sustainable agriculture.
You will be comfortable acting as the most senior marketing professional in the room, making decisions independently and operating with autonomy in a fast-moving international environment.
The Impact You Can Make
This role will provide continuity and leadership across InPlanet’s marketing function during an important period of growth. You will deliver priority global events and campaigns, strengthen engagement with prospective buyers and partners, and help translate InPlanet’s scientific and agricultural work into credible and compelling communications.
You will support pipeline growth, develop the Marketing team, and improve the systems and processes behind our work. Success means delivering against agreed performance goals, maintaining momentum, and handing the function back in an even stronger and better-organised position.
Core Working Relationships
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will work closely with members of the Commercial, Science, and Leadership teams. You will lead and support our Marketing Associate and Designer and manage relationships with external agencies, event partners, media contacts, and other service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day marketing function, establishing clear priorities, and ensuring that multiple workstreams continue moving forward.
- Manage and develop our Marketing Associate and Designer, while providing clear direction to external agencies and partners.
- Set and manage quarterly marketing OKRs, tracking progress, and ensuring the team remains focused on agreed priorities and outcomes.
- Lead the planning and delivery of senior-level, highly curated events, where the relevance and quality of the guest list matter more than audience size.
- Manage events from start to finish, including concept development, partnerships, invitations, guest management, run-of-show, and follow-up.
- Deliver InPlanet’s presence and related activities around COP31, Davos, Zurich, and San Francisco Climate Week.
- Begin planning London Climate Action Week 2027 and ensure it is ready for a smooth handover.
- Work directly with prospective buyers, partners, and senior external stakeholders across the carbon removal and agriculture sectors.
- Build and deliver targeted demand-generation campaigns that support buyer engagement, lead generation, and commercial pipeline growth.
- Take hands-on ownership of HubSpot, including lifecycle stages, contact and company data, buyer profiles, campaigns, and reporting.
- Maintain and improve InPlanet’s existing lead-activation playbook.
- Track marketing’s contribution to the commercial pipeline and take accountability for agreed pipeline targets.
- Maintain a consistent publishing rhythm across insights, case studies, LinkedIn, and newsletters.
- Translate scientific, agricultural, technical, and regulatory information into clear and engaging content without compromising accuracy or nuance.
- Ensure that InPlanet’s climate communications are precise, credible, and avoid overclaiming.
- Support press communications and manage media relations, coordinating effectively with journalists, agencies, and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Oversee and complete the remaining phases of InPlanet’s website rebuild.
- Manage the marketing budget and make pragmatic decisions about resources and priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
