Interim Head of Service Delivery
Location – Scotland (Hybrid)
Salary – £56,000
Duration – 6 months
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is seeking an outstanding service leader to join our organisation at a pivotal time of growth, transformation and impact. About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a significant portfolio of prevention, community support and aphasia services that improve lives across Scotland. Reporting to the Director of Service Delivery, the successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering our No Life Half Lived strategy, ensuring high-quality, person-centred services that empower people to live well with long-term health conditions.

As Interim Head of Service Delivery, you will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of services, including prevention programmes, community support services, aphasia services and impact and evaluation functions.
- Oversee service performance, lead service improvement initiatives, develop strategic partnerships and ensure that our services continue to deliver measurable outcomes for people and communities across Scotland.
- Work as a key member of the senior leadership team, leading multidisciplinary teams, influencing policy and service development, and representing Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland across a range of national and local forums.
- Be responsible for translating strategic ambitions into practical delivery, while ensuring strong governance, financial stewardship and a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
We are seeking an accomplished senior leader with:

- Significant experience within health, social care, the charity sector or a related field.
- A proven track record of leading large-scale services while delivering operational excellence.
- Substantial experience of service redesign, transformation and organisational change, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into high-quality service delivery.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with experience of working collaboratively across NHS, public, voluntary and community sectors.
- Recognition for their ability to inspire, develop and motivate high-performing teams while fostering a positive, inclusive and values-led culture.
