I’m partnering with a well-established consumer brand to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Social Media to provide leadership and direction to an established social function during a period of transition.
This is very much a role for someone who can come in, quickly understand the landscape and get on with it.
You’ll take leadership of a small social team, supported by agency partners, helping to stabilise the function, provide clear direction and ensure the team continues to deliver high-quality, commercially effective social activity.
The role will include:
- Leading and supporting the existing social media team, bringing structure, clarity and confidence
- Overseeing an integrated approach across organic and paid social
- Ensuring content and campaigns continue to drive brand awareness, engagement and commercial outcomes
- Bringing together social content, thought leadership and employee advocacy
- Using analytics, audience insight and social listening to optimise performance
- Supporting major brand activations, partnerships and sponsorship activity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within a regulated industry would be helpful but isn’t essential. B2B exposure would also be advantageous, although the priority is strong B2C social leadership.
This isn’t a hands-on content creation role or an opportunity for someone making their first step into leadership. The business needs an experienced social leader who can provide immediate direction, support and stability.
The initial assignment will be for a minimum of three months, with potential to extend to six months and support the transition to a permanent Head of Social.
Hybrid working is two days per week in the London office, with Thursdays being the core team day.
