Interim Head of Tax - Partnership
6-month contract | £800-£1,000 per day | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (London office)
Our client, a leading organisation in the maritime sector, is looking to appoint an Interim Head of Tax for an initial six-month period. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role with operational responsibility for the organisation’s global tax compliance and reporting activities. The successful candidate will provide continuity and control across the tax function, ensuring computations, communications, filings and payments are completed accurately and on time, while effectively managing external tax advisers against clear deliverables and timelines.
What you’ll be doing
- Take day-to-day ownership of the global tax compliance cycle.
- Manage Big Four and local outsourced tax advisers, ensuring clear deliverables, deadlines and accountability.
- Review corporate and partnership tax computations and returns prepared by external advisers.
- Manage tax disclosures and provide tax support for in-flight statutory audits.
- Respond to day-to-day partner tax queries and ensure issues are resolved effectively.
- Maintain oversight of tax compliance, ensuring key deadlines and obligations are met across multiple jurisdictions.

What we’re looking for
- Qualified tax professional with strong in-house tax leadership experience.
- Proven experience managing a global tax compliance cycle through an outsourced adviser model.
- Strong knowledge of UK and international corporate tax compliance.
- Practical experience of UK partnership taxation, particularly LLPs, is essential.
- Strong stakeholder and adviser management skills, with the ability to operate in a hands-on, delivery-focused environment.
- Immediate availability is essential

This is a hands-on Interim Head of Tax role focused on continuity, control and delivery, rather than long-term tax strategy. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the organisation’s day-to-day tax responsibilities continue to be managed effectively, accurately and on time.
