Maternity Cover - Starting in September 2026 until October 2027 FTC
£55-60k + Benefits
Saisei Talent are delighted to be partnering with a truly unique creative and entrepreneurial business to recruit an experienced HR Manager for a 13-month maternity cover contract.
This is a broad, hands-on operational HR role supporting approximately 150 employees across a diverse portfolio including a creative business, private office and an emerging media/music arm.
Working closely with senior leaders, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day people agenda, providing practical HR support across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring managers are well supported and HR operations run smoothly.
While you'll work closely with senior leaders, this isn't a strategic Centre of Excellence or transformation role. We're looking for an experienced operational HR professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, partnering closely with managers, leading on employee relations, recruitment and HR operations, and taking ownership of the day-to-day people agenda.
The business operates in a highly agile, fast-moving way, so flexibility works both ways here. While the role offers autonomy and trust around managing your time, there will also be occasions where urgent situations arise outside traditional office hours, particularly when supporting the private office or household staffing side of the business. In return, the culture is genuinely flexible, output-focused and built around giving people the freedom to work in a way that works for them.
No two days are quite the same.
One day you could be advising managers through a complex ER matter, overseeing monthly payroll, recruiting for a specialist role or reviewing contracts. The next, you may be partnering with the private office on a confidential people matter or supporting organisational change across one of the business areas.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
This is very much a delivery-focused HR role where you'll be trusted to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively and build strong relationships across the business.
The environment itself is incredibly creative and varied, spanning studios, production environments, household staffing and an evolving music/media arm. The person joining the business needs to be comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities and an ebb-and-flow workload.
The culture is entrepreneurial, highly trusted and refreshingly non-corporate. This role would suit someone who enjoys being embedded in a business rather than sitting behind process. Someone pragmatic, emotionally intelligent and calm under pressure, who enjoys balancing operational detail with commercial thinking and doesn't need a large team around them.
Key Responsibilities
You'll take ownership of a broad operational HR remit including:
- Providing day-to-day HR advice and coaching to managers across the business.
- Managing employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance and capability.
- Supporting recruitment across a variety of business areas.
- Overseeing monthly payroll and benefits administration.
- Managing onboarding and offboarding.
- Preparing contracts, policies and HR documentation.
- Supporting organisational change where required.
- Maintaining HR systems and ensuring employee records remain accurate and compliant.
- Partnering with the private office on confidential HR matters where discretion and sound judgement are essential.
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to the business and delivering high-quality operational HR support.

You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or operational HR Business Partner.
- Strong generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Confidence managing employee relations cases independently.
- Experience overseeing payroll and HR administration.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- The ability to build credibility quickly with managers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A calm, resilient and pragmatic approach.
- The confidence to work autonomously while knowing when to seek advice or escalate matters.
Experience within a creative, media, entertainment, production, founder-led, private office or SME environment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
The role is primarily based across Soho and other London locations, with occasional travel to regional sites when required.
