People Manager - Hybrid
6-Week Temporary Contract | £225 per day (Inside IR35) | Hybrid Working | South London
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to make an immediate impact?
We’re working with a respected South London charity seeking a People Manager to provide cover for a period of absence, an initial 6-week temporary contract. This is a great opportunity to support a purpose-driven organisation during a key period, partnering with senior leaders to strengthen people practices, engagement and culture.
The Role
Working closely with the Director of People & Culture, you’ll provide HR partnering support across the organisation, advising managers on employee relations matters and helping improve people processes, systems and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and senior leaders on HR advice and coaching
- Lead on employee relations cases (grievance, disciplinary, investigations, performance)
- Support engagement, culture and organisational development initiatives
- Improve HR policies, processes and performance frameworks
- Develop HR systems (Breathe HR), reporting and people analytics
- Support payroll, HR administration and workforce planning
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and learning & development
- Build strong relationships across all levels, including union representatives
About You
You’ll be a confident HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and handling complex employee relations.

You’ll Ideally Have
- CIPD Level 5 (or above)
- Experience in an HR Business Partner or People Partner role
- Strong employee relations experience
- Experience supporting change and developing managers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
- HR systems and reporting experience (Breathe HR desirable)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience in the charity, healthcare or not-for-profit sector, or a unionised environment, is highly desirable.
