Interim HR Manager Role in Harrogate
This Interim HR Manager role in Harrogate is all about keeping things running smoothly within the Human Resources department. You'll be responsible for overseeing key HR functions, ensuring the organisation operates efficiently and effectively.

Description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a broad and influential role within a respected charitable organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll provide both strategic and operational HR expertise, leading on employee relations, organisational change, people projects, and workforce planning.
The organisation is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing credibility, confidence, and practical HR leadership from day one. As such, applicants should be available immediately or able to start within the next month and be committed to the full 6-month contract.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the People Director, you will:
- Act as a trusted HR partner to managers and senior leaders.
- Lead on complex employee relations matters and organisational change initiatives.
- Support the delivery of the wider people strategy and key HR projects.
- Use workforce data and insights to inform decision-making and improve organisational performance.
- Review and enhance HR policies, processes, and systems.
- Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and develop a small HR team to deliver a high-quality people service.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR best practice, and organisational policies.
Profile
We're looking for an experienced and commercially-minded HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly establish credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
You'll ideally demonstrate:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR leadership role.
- Strong expertise in employee relations, including complex case management.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing strategic decisions.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using HR data and reporting to influence outcomes.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience within the charity, education, care, healthcare, or wider not-for-profit sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
