Interim HR Director – Europe
HW Solutions are seeking an immediately available Interim HR Director to take responsibility for a European HR function within a complex and evolving business environment.
This is a hands-on, operational and remedial assignment for an experienced HR leader who is comfortable stepping into a challenging environment, quickly establishing control, providing strong leadership and driving meaningful change.
The Role Will Involve:
- Taking overall responsibility for the European HR agenda across multiple countries.
- Quickly assessing the existing HR structure, capability, processes and priorities.
- Stabilising the HR function and establishing clear accountability and ways of working.
- Providing strong leadership, coaching and support to a relatively junior/inexperienced HR team.
- Managing complex employee relations, performance and organisational change matters.
- Supporting restructuring and workforce planning activity where required.
- Providing hands-on HR support in markets where local capability is limited.
- Ensuring appropriate governance, consistency and compliance across the region.
- Working closely with senior leadership and local management to resolve issues pragmatically and at pace.
- Developing the capability of the existing HR team while addressing gaps in performance and effectiveness.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience as an Interim HR Director, HRD or senior HR leader across a European or international organisation.
- A strong track record in remediation, turnaround, transformation, restructuring or stabilisation environments.
- Significant hands-on experience in complex employee relations and organisational change.
- Strong knowledge of European employment law, including substantial experience with German employment law.
- Experience managing HR teams through periods of significant change and challenge.
- A pragmatic, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach.

Additional Information:
- Day rate: Outside IR35
- Location: Remote role with expensed European travel
