Interim Assistant HR Manager 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract | London | Hybrid Working

Salary: £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Location: London (On site initially, then hybrid)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Full-Time

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for your next interim opportunity?

We are seeking an accomplished Interim Assistant HR Manager to join a high-performing banking organisation during a period of maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a collaborative HR team, supporting the delivery of a comprehensive people agenda across the business.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide expert HR advice, manage employee relations matters, oversee key HR processes, and contribute to a range of strategic and operational projects.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a broad range of people matters.
  • Managing employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance and investigations.
  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding.
  • Overseeing payroll processes and ensuring the accuracy of monthly submissions.
  • Supporting benefits administration and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation and GDPR requirements.
  • Producing HR management information and supporting regulatory and governance activities where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor or Assistant HR Manager position.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting payroll and HR operations.
  • A highly organised and proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
