We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation in the Harrogate area, seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their People team on a 3-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the contract to be extended.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to help lead a small HR team while partnering with senior leaders to deliver both strategic and operational HR initiatives.

You must have previous HR Manager experience and be able to commute to Harrogate for part of the week.

The role is full-time (35 hours per week), although part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Reporting to the People Director, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the people agenda, supporting managers across the organisation and ensuring the HR function provides a proactive, high-quality service.

The Role:

  • Leading and developing the HR team to deliver an effective and customer-focused HR service
  • Partnering with managers to support workforce planning and organisational objectives
  • Coaching and challenging managers on complex HR and employee relations matters
  • Managing and advising on complex employee relations cases, including attending hearings and formal meetings
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and case management information
  • Supporting the development and delivery of management development initiatives
  • Working with the People Director to develop and implement the People Strategy and key HR projects
  • Leading organisational wellbeing initiatives and communications
  • Reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and systems
  • Using HR data, reporting and analytics to identify trends and support strategic decision-making
  • Driving continuous improvement across HR processes and ways of working
  • Supporting organisational change projects, restructures and workforce redesign initiatives
  • Promoting employee benefits and engagement initiatives across the organisation

About You:

  • Previous experience in an HR Manager position with responsibility for managing a HR team
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification, diploma or equivalent
  • Significant experience providing professional HR support and guidance to managers and senior leaders
  • Strong employee relations experience, including handling complex cases
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience using HR systems, reporting tools and people data
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful recommendations
  • A sound understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion best practices
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work both strategically and operationally

Package:

  • 3-month fixed-term contract (potential to be extended)
  • Salary circa £42,000 per annum (pro rata for the duration of the contract)
  • Full-time, 35 hours per week (part-time considered)
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • 35 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro-rated accordingly)
