Interim Inventory Accountant

Global Accounting Network is working with a well-known motorsport business that is looking to hire an Interim Inventory Accountant on an initial 6-week contract, with the potential for the assignment to extend for up to 4 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-performance environment and take ownership of inventory accounting and controls across the business.

The Role

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider Finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory accounting, supporting month-end processes and working closely with operational stakeholders to resolve any issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing inventory-related journals and ensuring inventory movements are accurately recorded
  • Supporting the month-end close process, including inventory reconciliations and adjustments
  • Overseeing works order processes and resolving outstanding issues with operational teams
  • Supporting stock counts, investigating discrepancies and accounting for write-offs and adjustments
  • Maintaining accurate records and audit trails for inventory transactions
  • Analysing inventory variances and providing clear commentary to stakeholders
  • Ensuring inventory processes comply with accounting policies and internal controls
  • Supporting improvements to inventory reporting, processes and controls
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting

About You

We're looking for an immediately available accountant with strong stock and inventory accounting experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Qualified accountant or strong relevant accounting experience
  • Previous experience working with stock and inventory
  • Ideally, experience within a manufacturing or similarly operational environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting and stock control processes
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach
  • The ability to work effectively with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • The ability to start immediately
