Overview

Interim role leading Azure migration, IT governance and Cyber Essentials for an established UK technology manufacturer.

Location: Gloucestershire - hybrid working

Day Rate: Competitive - Inside IR35

Job Type: Contract (3 months, immediate start)

About the Role

This is a hands-on interim assignment working alongside the Group IT Manager during a key period of improvement and change. You'll bring structure and accountability to the IT improvement programme, establish practical governance, policies and procedures, and lead the remaining migration from legacy on-premises infrastructure to Azure, with full decommissioning targeted for 2027.

The role suits someone equally comfortable presenting to senior leadership and working through technical and operational detail. You'll also mentor and add leadership capacity to a small internal IT team. By the end of the three months, you'll have delivered a prioritised IT improvement plan, a strengthened governance framework, an agreed Azure migration and security roadmap, and clear recommendations on team capability and future IT strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Setting priorities for the IT improvement programme and coordinating delivery with the Group IT Manager
  • Leading planning and delivery of the remaining on-premises to Azure migration, including a credible roadmap to full decommissioning
  • Reviewing, designing and implementing IT policies, procedures and governance frameworks for a cloud-first environment
  • Driving the security and compliance roadmap, achieving Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus and laying foundations for ISO 27001 alignment
  • Identifying gaps and inefficiencies across the IT estate and delivering practical, prioritised improvements
  • Mentoring the Group IT Manager and internal team, providing structure and extra leadership capacity
  • Assessing IT staffing levels, structure and capability, and making recommendations for the future needs of the business
  • Reviewing progress against the IT section of the current three-year business plan and helping shape the IT strategy beyond it
  • Providing clear strategic updates and reporting to senior leadership
  • Maintaining business continuity and minimising disruption throughout the transition

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
