Interim Commercial Technology Lawyer
Bristol (hybrid, one day per week in the office) | Immediate start | 2 to 3 months initially, with potential to extend | Day rate (inside IR35) or FTC
Overview
An opportunity for an experienced commercial technology lawyer to join a pensions technology business on an interim basis. The business provides software and technology solutions to pension administrators, insurers and other clients operating in regulated environments, and its legal work is centred on technology, outsourcing and complex commercial contracting.
This is a hands-on role within a small, growing legal team, reporting directly to the Legal Director. You will be providing immediate support across a busy contracts workload, with real exposure to the business and its clients from day one.
The role
You will take ownership of a broad range of technology and commercial agreements, acting as a trusted adviser to commercial and operational stakeholders. The work is varied and substantive, and suits someone who can get up to speed quickly and run with matters independently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
