We're supporting a global organisation undergoing a significant transformation to appoint an experienced Interim Senior Governance Manager.

Hybrid Working, London
Interim Contract: 6 months +

This is a unique opportunity to help shape and embed governance within an investment and portfolio business. Working directly with senior leadership, you will play a key role in designing governance and risk frameworks, advising executives on governance best practice, and supporting a complex portfolio of investments and joint ventures.

This is a broad, hands-on role that combines strategic governance advisory work with practical delivery. You'll need to be equally comfortable advising senior stakeholders and rolling up your sleeves to drive actions through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted governance adviser to senior executives and leadership teams
  • Design, implement and continuously improve governance frameworks across a growing investment portfolio
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management and control frameworks
  • Provide governance advice on investment structures, partnerships, and joint ventures
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams on governance-related matters
  • Deliver governance training, briefings, and practical guidance to stakeholders
  • Maintain governance records, actions, and documentation to ensure effective decision-making and oversight
  • Provide company secretarial support where required, although this forms a smaller part of the overall role

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Ideal Background:

We're particularly interested in candidates who have held broad governance roles covering governance advisory, risk frameworks, and company secretarial responsibilities, rather than purely traditional CoSec positions.
