Job Opportunity – Interim Management Accountant – Fully Remote – District Council

Job Role: Interim Management Accountant

Contract Duration: 6 Months (likely to go on for 12 months)

Rate: DOE

IR35: Inside IR35.

Fully Remote: Will need to travel in on the first day to collect equipment

Days: full time, X5 days per week (could also consider part time)

Earliest Start Date: ASAP

My local authority client who are a district council have their Management Accountant going on a 12 month sabbatical and are therefore on the lookout for a replacement on an interim basis.

Main Duties:

  • VAT returns and VAT submissions. This is key and will be the primary focus of the job role. The council already use a consultancy for any complex VAT queries.
  • Assisting around the edges with wider management accounting, budget forecasting, budget setting etc.
  • This role will be more of a Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner (VAT) position rather than a Technical Accountant.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have specific experience doing VAT returns for a local authority.
  • Do not necessarily need to be fully qualified.
