A well-established and diverse organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to provide high-quality financial support across a multi-faceted business operation.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, supporting decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with operational stakeholders and adding value through insightful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including:
    • Profit & Loss
    • Balance Sheet
    • Cash Flow reporting
  • Ensure all reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal adjustments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Produce meaningful financial and non-financial management information for senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Maintain robust financial controls.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with year-end processes, statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
  • Provide leadership and support to junior finance team members.
  • Support finance systems maintenance, process improvement initiatives and reporting enhancements.

About You

You will be a proactive and commercially aware finance professional with the ability to work independently while building strong relationships across the organisation.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and management information.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring finance staff.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in a complex, multi-site or diverse business environment.
  • Exposure to audit, VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Systems implementation or process improvement experience.
