Management Accountant

Location: Preston

Salary: Up to £60,000

Contract: Permanent


An established, listed financial services organisation is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its growing Group Finance team.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of management accounting and reporting activities while supporting a range of financial control, statutory reporting, and process-improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance-sheet reconciliations
  • Deliver clear management information to Finance Directors and senior stakeholders
  • Support month-end and year-end close
  • Assist with statutory accounts, plc reporting, and external audit requirements
  • Maintain strong financial controls and documented accounting processes
  • Work collaboratively with finance teams across the wider Group
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, systems, and finance processes
  • Support wider projects and ad hoc analysis as required

About You

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Strong management accounting and month-end experience
  • Confident preparing and presenting financial information
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong controls mindset
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders
  • Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience within financial services, insurance, or a listed organisation would be advantageous but is not essential
