Interim Management Accountant (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Kent
Contract: Interim / temporary to permanent
Day rate: £350–£400 per day (DOE)

Pearse Professionals are supporting a renewable energy business in looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Interim Management Accountant to join its finance team. Starting on an interim basis with a clear route to a permanent position, this is a strong opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to take ownership of core finance activities within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll support the day-to-day running of financial operations, accurate record keeping, and timely reporting. You'll also act as a point of contact for internal teams and customers, helping to resolve queries and deliver a high standard of service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing bank reconciliations (Xero) and managing month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting VAT returns
  • Raising daily sales invoices, maintaining revenue reconciliations, and managing debt collection
  • Processing supplier invoices and managing accounts payable (Dext and ApprovalMax), including controlled monthly payment cycles
  • Handling invoice queries and resolving billing issues promptly and professionally
  • Collaborating with Sales and Operations to support cross-functional process improvements

What we're looking for

  • Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, journals, and ledgers
  • Familiarity with VAT and CIS (desirable)
  • High level of accuracy and strong organisational skills
  • Clear communicator with a practical, problem-solving approach
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
