We are partnering with a leading Housing Association to recruit a Management Accountant to join its finance team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role within a purpose-driven organisation that provides vital services for local residents. Operating within a complex environment, the organisation balances social impact, customer outcomes, regulatory requirements and long-term financial sustainability, making finance a critical partner in delivering its mission.
This is a broad and commercially focused role, combining high-quality management reporting with budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. It would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys getting behind the numbers, working closely with stakeholders and using financial insight to support effective decision-making in a complex and meaningful setting.
The role
Working as part of an established finance function, you will be responsible for providing accurate and insightful financial information across a diverse organisation focused on delivering positive outcomes for residents and communities.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
- Supporting the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning processes.
- Working closely with stakeholders across housing, property, customer and corporate services to support informed decision-making.
- Providing financial analysis and insight to senior leaders, helping to balance financial performance with organisational priorities and customer outcomes.
- Supporting financial planning and modelling for business initiatives, investment decisions and service improvements.
- Developing management information, reporting and dashboards to support both operational and strategic objectives.
- Reviewing financial performance and identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
- Supporting the development of business cases and financial appraisals.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting.

About you
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong management accounting and analytical skills. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders outside finance and able to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insight. You will enjoy building relationships, influencing decision-making and understanding the broader factors that drive performance within a purpose-led organisation.
You should combine strong technical accounting skills with curiosity, sound judgement and a genuine interest in how finance can support the delivery of high-quality services and lasting social impact.
This role has been confirmed as inside of IR35 and candidates will need to commit to 3 days a week on site in the client’s Essex offices.
